Secretary Cabral Lauds Support of Volunteers |

 DSWD Execom led by Secretary Cabral log in the Volunteer Registry Social Welfare and Development Secretary Esperanza I. Cabral expressed her gratitude to more than 100 individuals from various non-government organizations, professional groups and corporations who registered as volunteers during the launch of DSWD’s Registry of Volunteers on Disaster Risk Management and Response held yesterday, January 23 at the DSWD, Batasan complex, Quezon City. Among those who registered are doctors and psychologists, civil engineers, businessmen, and even a geologist. These are the people who expressed their desire to contribute their knowledge, skills, time, and resources as volunteers.
At the same time, Secretary Cabral urges other individuals, professionals, groups, and corporations to be part of the DSWD group of volunteers who will be mobilized in case of a disaster. |

DSWD Launches Online Registry of Volunteers |

In its effort to mobilize volunteers for disaster risk management and response, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will launch its Online Registry of Volunteers on January 23 (Tuesday), 9:30 a.m. at DSWD, Batasan Complex, Quezon City. Social Welfare and Development Secretary Esperanza I. Cabral shall launch the online registry of DSWD volunteers in simple ceremonies with heads of various non-government organizations, members of the League of Corporate Foundations, civic groups, other organizations and individuals who are or who wish to volunteer their time, talent, and services for disaster operations. The registry is a proactive step in preparing for natural and man-made disasters. It will serve as the national database of volunteers for disaster operations and facilitate the deployment of appropriate volunteers to an emergency or disaster operation. |
